{"id":1714,"date":"2016-03-25T20:35:15","date_gmt":"2016-03-25T20:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/thaydoi\/?p=1714"},"modified":"2016-03-25T20:35:15","modified_gmt":"2016-03-25T20:35:15","slug":"watford-met-tube-station-gets-boost-with-petition-drive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/charitablehumans.org\/watford-met-tube-station-gets-boost-with-petition-drive\/","title":{"rendered":"Watford Met tube station gets boost with petition drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Watford MP\u00a0Richard Harrington\u00a0was recently\u00a0at\u00a0Watford Metropolitan Station\u00a0to receive the\u00a0petition opposing the closure of the station planned when the Croxley Rail Link becomes operational from Carol Scleater on Saturday, March 28.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_17_2_1_1458912836367_442\">So far almost 1,800 signatures have been collected from commuters, residents, school children, cyclists, disabled people and people using the park.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks were extended to Lester Wagman, who originated the petition, and Michael Fish for his expertise and support. Mr Harrington informed the gathering he would deliver the petition and all comments to the Secretary of State for Transport Patrick McLoughlin MP.<\/p>\n<p>The petition submits,\u00a0We, the undersigned, OPPOSE THE CLOSURE OF WATFORD METROPOLITAN LINE STATION as part of the current Croxley Rail Link proposal and call on the SECRETARY OF STATE FOR TRANSPORT to consider other options for the scheme which don&#8217;t involve this.<\/p>\n<p>One signer commented,\u00a0With all travel problems on the road, closing down the station will increase traffic in Watford.
